Abstract: The cell was built with a graphite cathode of 120 mm×40 mm×20 mm and a Fe - Ni - Co -Al<sub>2sub>O<sub>3sub> cermet inert anode of 120 mm×80 mm×15 mm.The purity of aluminum metal produced was 98%〜99%, the impurities were mainly Fe, Ni and Co.The anode gas consisted of 98%〜99% O<sub>2sub> which was analyzed with an Orsat apparatus.>2sub>O<sub>3sub> in the bath and the anode used was inert.

In this investigation, Pt–Ba–Ce/γ-Al<sub>2sub>O<sub>3sub> catalysts were preparedThe physical and chemical properties of the Pt–Ba–Ce/γ-Al<sub>2sub>O<sub>3sub>>xsub>, CeO<sub>2sub>, and BaCO<sub>3sub>, whose peaks were observed in X-ray diffraction(XRD) spectra, dispersed well on the γ-Al2O3, as shown by transmission electron microscope (TEM>catsub> at 350 °C, which was ascribed to the increase in NO<sub>2sub> yield.
